I am going middle of the road on my review. I ordered a Philly. It was ok and I wasn't really impressed with the bread. The Hubs ordered a cuban, which was decent. Honestly, I am not a fan of places that include lettuce and tomato. To me that isn't a cuban just a hot sandwich. The bread for his cuban was the same as for my philly. We can say we've been but we will not be back

Love this place! The BEST Cubans in plant city! They satisfy my craving for a good Cuban every time. You also have to try one of their famous shakes if you go. You won't be disappointed.

Best Greek salad around. Also great Cubans and Philly cheese steaks. I wouldn5 consider the Cuba S or Phillies 'authentic but they are great unless you are a purist that can't just appreciate good food. I have heard their shakes are great but have never tried. Be prepared to wait outside (or in your car) for a while if you go during peak hours.

I love this place! Their strawberry shakes are some of the best I've ever had. I've had the Original Cuban and the Pork Cuban... both very good, but I prefer the Pork Cuban--it was reminiscent of the sandwiches I had at my Cuban friend's house. The Spanish bean soup is also delicious, but a little bit on the greasy side. You can call ahead and place your order. They have a nice variety of sandwiches and burgers (not just Cubans), and various flavors of shakes and hurricanes. I just wish they had more sides. They have a few different salads and chips. They offer a kid menu, but no grilled cheese sandwich--not that I know of, at least. That would be a nice addition because grilled cheese on Cuban bread is awesome. I'll definitely go back, especially know that there's a closer location to me in Lakeland.

They have the most delicious Cuban sandwich we've ever had!!! The ingredients are fresh, especially tomatoes, just bursting with flavor!! Also their shakes are the real deal, definitely worth a try!! And the prices don't disappoint either. Unfortunately, we didn't get to have it today, as they are closed Sundays!!!! Well, till next time..

I was in the area and wanted a quick good lunch, Cuban sandwich sounded good. I looked this place up and all the good reviews made me give it a try. Although it was not quick to get a lunch, it took about 20 minutes from waiting in line to getting my sandwich, it was worth the wait. The Cuban here is one of the best I have ever had, and the price is really good. I paid $8 for a soda and sandwich. The staff are friendly as well.

Yum! Traditional Cuban, all the way, pressed with honey. So good, and you can't beat the prices. Grab a shake too while you're there. The service is always quick, even when it's busy. I haven't had any of the salads, but they look great. Make sure you get over to the strawberry hut the next time you are in plant city.

Glad we stopped! Super hole in the wall - must have been an old ice scream stand, but now, they churn out some yummy Cuban sandwiches! The full size is definitely enough for two! Will totally check out the soup and milk shakes next time.

I have NOT been to their Plant City restaurant. But, my wife & I recently tried their new store on Memorial Blvd in Lakeland and were not impressed. The restaurant itself is not a newer building and feels kind of like a mess hall. A new coat of paint on the walls but everything feels very dated .. from the tables & chairs to the booths and other fixtures. There are no wall coverings of any kind to knock down some of the noise inside the place. It appeared that every table needed some kind of maintenance on the legs to level them and keep them from wobbling. Plus, we got there around 6:00 PM and ALL the tables needed to be cleaned. There was no trash on them because you're encouraged to bus them yourself. But there were greasy spots or food bits on almost all the table tops. And, no napkins so that you could wipe them down yourself before eating. All the tables, chairs & booths seemed dated and worn. There is just the menu board above the counter where you order and it is adequate but rather plain and faded. You order from the counter and get a order number which they call when your order is up. My wife says her Philly sandwich was good. But I was not impressed with the Cuban that I ordered. It was almost entirely ham while the menu board said it was supposed to be a combination of meats .. which I take as it should have been equal amounts. I don't think we'll have a reason to go back.

I love this place. They make fantastic Cubans. Delicious ingredients that compliment each other perfectly. The sandwiches are huge! They look larger than most places. The shakes are also definitely worth a try.

Love knowing this sandwich spot is located so close to highway. I'll be picking up a Cuban more often on my trips down I-4. We tried fully dressed pressed Cuban and Cheesesteak. Prefer the Cuban, but will get mine without all the veggies next time (too wet and messy). Fyi - The cheesesteak comes mixed w green peppers and onions.... Can't order without. Don't forget strawberry shake. It's Plant City! Yum!

Yum yum and yum. My husband and I were around the area looking for somewhere for lunch. We ran across this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Food is made to order, so it's hot and fresh. I ordered the philly cheese steak. It was gooooood, especially for a little place like that. We also ordered milkshake, strawberry duh!, and it had fresh fruit in it and everything. Prices are right, service is quick despite being quite busy. Didn't get much interaction with the staff but they were pleasant enough and very efficient

I've been craving a great cuban sandwich for almost a year since I did a race though Ybor and no one wanted to go out for food afterwards. This place FINALLY fulfilled my craving. From the outside, this place isn't much to look at, as it's really just all outside. Walk up, order, eat. That's all there is to it! I ordered a full Cuban and I don't know how, but I managed to scarf it all down. One look at the size of it and I'd planned to save half of it for lunch the next day, but one taste and I knew I'd somehow eat it all. My wife got the cheesesteak and said it was amazing. Now, you can't come here without getting a shake. Since we were in Plant City, we obviously got the Strawberry Shake and it was AWESOME. Real fruit, not syrup. We loved it. Sat on one of the picnic tables and chatted with a college student that comes every week between classes for the Cuban and a shake. If I lived closer, I'd be just like him. As good as it gets!

Since I moved to Florida to work 11 months ago I have found a number of places to get a good Cuban sandwich. Here at the Strawberry Hut I have had theirs a number of times and it has always been excellent. I usually get 'a whole one' early in the morning, and it is enough to keep me full all day. I have been told a number of times I should try the hamburger because it is so good. Until the other day I have never tried it because I can never get past ordering the Cuban. Well I did finally try the 'half' cheeseburger ($3.99 I think) and it was one of the best I have ever eaten; a solid 10! The bread that they use is what makes it a 10 for me. And they press/toast it which adds quite a few elements - visually appealing, a bit of a crunch, and of course the additional flavor. And, they actually put real meat on the burger. Tough decision next time by. I added a couple of photos of the burger here too. RD **Also, a very clean restroom every time I have stopped by**

I've driven "near" this place more times than I can count on my way to and from I-4. This time around I was starving and needed Yelp to rescue me. After a quick search it looked like I just had to stop in and try the Cuban. My only regret is ordering a whole cuban instead of the half. This thing was packed full of deliciousness. The menu had other items that looked just as good. Looks like they have a strong local following too.

If you're passing through Plant City on I-4, the Strawberry Hut is well worth a stone's-throw detour. We stopped by this weekend (prime strawberry season) and got a half turkey Cuban, a cheese toast, and an egg-and-cheese Cuban (for breakfast). We also got a small strawberry milkshake. I can honestly say that I have never had a better strawberry shake -- heck, I have never had a better dessert at a roadside stand, and that includes the fresh peach fried pies right outside the Jaemor orchard in Alto, Georgia. (Sorry, y'all.) For that matter, I can honestly say I barely had THIS shake! Next time I come here with my wife, I'm buying two! Interesting side note: this is one of two tiny roadside shacks I've found in Hillsborough County whose menu says "HAVE A JESUS-FILLED DAY". The other is the equally venerable Campbell's Dairyland in Brandon. Who first put the sentiment on their menu board? I don't know. But they both mean it cheerfully and sincerely. Campbell's has fewer posters for Christian events and services, though. Who knew there was a Christian style of playing the drums? I sure didn't.

Very friendly place, everyone's always smiling. The breakfast Cuban sandwich is a wonderful day to start the day. It's also cheap too!

I used to think these were the best cubans around when I was a kid--and I still have memories of going here to grab a sandwich before a day at the lake--but there are better cuban sandwiches to be had, mostly in Ybor. If you're in need of a pretty sturdy Tampa-style cuban sandwich (with mustard, pickle, swiss, genoa salami, roast pork, ham, etc), Strawberry Hut does a pretty sturdy version! If you want the best cuban sandwich though and you can make the hike, go to La Septima in Brandon or La Tropicana in Tampa.

On our way from Orlando to Tampa, we looked for a good place to eat lunch - and found it at the Strawberry Hut! It is just a couple blocks off I-4. Very tasty sandwiches (get them "pressed" you'll love it). Real fresh fruit in their shakes. Oh so good!
